Day 45/91

Today was another great day. I achieved everything I had planned for myself plus more! Yay!

Today’s physical fitness:

  • 2 30 minute walks with Mayhem
  • Day 2 of the 3 week yoga retreat week 2
  • For today’s exercise, I chose 21 Day Fix’s Total Body Cardio Fix – it was fun and challenging but I paused in between the workout so I still have a long way to go until I become good at this workout routine

Today’s diet:

  • Lemon water
  • Fresh juice
  • Lunch: a salad + 2 slices of homemade leftover pizza + 1.5 slices of homemade carrot cake
  • Reduced my chocolate intake to only 2 portfolio chocolates today
  • Dinner: a small portion of homemade daal and quinoa

I also managed to keep up with 92% of my daily intended routine, which was a very positive factor. I feel that the more that I do and reflect on it, the more motivated I am to keep on going!

This is today’s version of the my somewhat edited daily (wanted) routine/ things I want to be able to accomplish daily:

  • Meditation (atleast for 5 minutes for now)
  • Gurbani (2-2.5 hours)
  • Gratitude Journal (5-10 mins)
  • Cook/prepare my meals, eat healthy and homemade, eat mindfully, drink lots of water (1-2 hours)
  • Clean and organize (30 mins)
  • 30 minute walk
  • 30 minute yoga
  • 30 minute exercise
  • Work/business (6-7 hours)
  • Self-care (1 hour)
  • Blog/ daily reflections (15-30 mins)
  • Sleep 7-8 hours

I used to be a bit restrictive with how I wanted my routine to be. I put expectations on myself of how much hours I should spend working. I recently talked to my husband and told him that I want more of a work/life balance. He’s worked very hard to provide us both with a life of more freedom. Since we work in our own business, I don’t have to make myself feel bad if I’m not in my office from 9-6 or 10-6, especially because I’m constantly working from home during non-business hours anyways. I recently just decided to try spending fewer hours of my day at work in the office (and not feel bad about it). I think I am happier and more productive when I give myself more flexibility and stop placing restrictions on myself. So I’m giving it a try this week 🙂

Goal for tomorrow: try to maintain everything I did today + add on drinking more water!

Life reflections: As I was showering and thinking about life I came up with another goal. I want to be physically fit and strong by the time I turn 28 (1 have 1 year + 1.5 months) so then I can start focusing on family. I just want to be able to do this for myself first. If I am successful at doing this for me, I will have more faith in myself in terms of being a mother. I just want to create a more disciplined, balanced and productive life where I also prioritize on my own well-being and happiness before I commit to being responsible for another human being. I want to come up with a list of things I want to do before I have kids. That gives me a little over a year to start living a bit more thoughtfully and start accomplishing things on my bucket list (and coming up with a bucket list). I feel like a bucket list is so important to keep life fun and interesting and exciting. And excitement leads to more happiness and happiness leads to more productivity. So all these things kind of depend on each other. I thank blogging so much because it allows me to come to understand my own self better and have in writing for future reference and helps me to make a plan to live better, keeps me focused and motivated. I cannot explain the benefits of this. I am so happy to have found this tool. I don’t currently have a bucket list on paper so this is something I definitely want to work on and I want to try to reflect a couple times a year on what’s being ticked off. Will be back soon 🙂
