Routine, Consistency, and Organization

I recently discovered that the most important thing that I need in my life for my mental wellbeing, is routine/consistency and organization. I’ve had many days where I felt completely confused and lost about everything in life. On one day in particular, about a month ago, I came upon someone’s blog after googling something along the lines of ‘I don’t know what I want in life’. In this post, the blogger gave me a technique to overcome my feelings of confusion and to get some clarity. The method was to change everything you didn’t know to what you did know. So, I converted ‘I don’t know what I want in life’, to a list of things I knew for certain. Every point in this list started with ‘I know for certain that…’. And this completely changed the way I was feeling. In just a couple hours, I was able to compile (and organize) a list of 100+ things that I knew for certain. You can bet without doubt, that since the day that I made that list, I have not had a single day where I felt confused and lost. I can’t remember exactly how long it’s been (which is one of the benefits of blogging: I will now have a place where I can come to recall things), but I used to feel this way (on and off) for the last couple years. I was going to share all the points related to routine and organization, but after going through it, I think I am comfortable enough to share the entire list on this blog. A post will follow called ‘What I know for Certain’. Basically, now that I’ve figured out what I want… this blog is about making it happen. Because I’ve known for a while what I want – but wanting never translated to having. This blog is my tool to make my life what I want it to be. Join me on my journey to living my best possible life. 🙂
